A GAME-HIGH 18 points by Elyse Penaluna was a great sign for Bendigo Spirit in Friday night's WNBL victory on Sydney's court.
Penaluna also chipped in with nine rebounds as Spirit dominated the second and third quarters on the way to a 77-61 victory.
The Flames led 14-12 at quarter-time, but the Bernie Harrower-coached Bendigo took over.
Spirit scored 42 points over the next two quarters and led 54-37 at a quarter to go.
Stars in Bendigo's victory included Kelsey Grifin, 12 points and 12 rebounds; Chelsea Aubry, 10 points; Sara Blicavs, 9 points; Maddie Garrick and Kelly Wilson, eight points each; and Gabe Richards, seven rebounds.
Spirit plays in Canberra on Sunday.
