THE deadline for the Loddon Shire’s Australia Day Awards is fast approaching.
Nominations are open for the Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year Award categories as well as the community group, event and community service awards.
This year there is also a literature competition for school-aged children, colouring-in for kindergarten to grade two students and an open photographic contest.
The council is encouraging community members to submit their creative work and nominate someone they consider to be worthy of recognition.
At this year’s Australia Day celebrations Kevin Sutton was named Citizen of the Year, Tyler Nelson and Nick Marlow were both named Young Citizens of the Year and the Couch House Gallery at Wedderburn and the Goldfields Choir at Inglewood were named Communtiy Groups of the Year.
Nominations close on October 25.
