A FEMALE driver was ‘lucky to escape’ serious injuries on Friday morning after her car collided with a tree.
The woman, aged in her 20s, drove off the road and hit a tree on the Bendigo-Maryborough Road at Lockwood about 12.30am.
Bendigo Sergeant Jason Hawke said the driver was lucky to have not suffered any serious issues.
He said both police and ambulance crews attended the scene.
Sergeant Hawke said police conducted a breath test on the driver.
“She blew .08,” he said.
Sergeant Hawke said the driver received a traffic infringement notice.
“There was considerable damage to the car,” he said.
“She only had minor injuries."
Ambulance Victoria spokesperson John Mullen said the female suffered bruises, cuts and abrasions.
He said the female refused to be transported to the hospital.
"She was encouraged to go to the Bendigo Hospital for further assessment but she refused," Mr Mullen said.
