A TALENTED group from Bendigo Senior Secondary College will contest next Tuesday's running of the School Sport Victoria state track and field championships.
Competition will be at Lakeside Stadium.
The Bendigo Senior Secondary College Lions will chase glory in sprints, walks, distance runs, relays and high jump.
Sprinting star Kate Dargaville was in great form as she won the 18-20 girls 100m in 13.60 and the 200m in 20.48 at last week's Loddon Mallee region finals in Flora Hill.
Another of BSSC's stars is middle-distance runner Matt Cindric who won the 800m at the Loddon Mallee finals in 2:08.44.
Race walker Josh Savage will line up in the 18-20 years 1500m walk.
Savage achieved a time of 9:29 as he won the 16-20 years final at the Loddon Mallee titles in Flora Hill.
Best known for his feats on the football field, Jaden McGrath will contest the 18-20 years high jump at Lakeside.
A gun midfielder for the Bendigo Pioneers in the TAC Cup under-18s competition and for Kerang, McGrath leapt 1.90m to win at the athletics finals.
Bendigo Senior SC has two teams to contest the 17-years 4 x 100m relay finals.
The girls team will be chosen from Bronte Annand, Kaitlyn Bryce, Jozie Robinson-Henry, Lily Watson and Maddie Malloy.
BSSC's boys' team in the 4 x 100m relay is Matt Cindric, Ben Connelly, Mitch Edwards and Fergus Payne.
At last year's titles, Connelly, Edwards and Payne teamed up to be in a gold medal-winning relay team for Bendigo South East.
