SATURDAY'S Bendigo Jockey Club Beach Party theme meeting is set to be one of the most popular in modern times.
The Daiquiri King Beach Party Race Day has grown into one of the best social events on the BJC calendar.
A big crowd is expected on Saturday, with all corporate packages sold out and minimal seating still available in Silks. General admission tickets are available for $20.
Off the track, a live band will perform and the netball shootout will be held throughout the afternoon with prizes up for grabs.
All the action from the Caulfield Cup meeting will be broadcast on the big screen.
On the track, Bendigo-trained horses will be prominent in the eight-race card.
Shane Fliedner has made a habit of winning races on his home track in spring and he'll saddle up four first starters on Saturday. He also has Churchill Express resuming from a spell in the last race.
Rod Symons has three entries on Saturday - maiden runners Chips In and Savannah Moon, while Red Five is an emergency in the final event.
Shaun Dwyer, Paul Banks, Merv Tresize, Brad Cole, Danny Curran, Peter Boynton and Catherine Jordan are other Bendigo trainers with runners on Saturday.
Gates open at 11.30am, with the first race to be run at 1.11pm and the last at 5.20pm.
Saturday's event is the lead-up to the Jacyo Bendigo Cup on October 30.
