A GOLDEN Square man accused of using Facebook to groom a teenage boy for sex has had all charges against him dropped.
John Harrison, 42, was arrested in a raid on his home in February this year.
The Bendigo Magistrates Court heard on Wednesday the charges of stalking and using a carriage service to groom a 13-year-old victim have both been struck out.
The Office of Public Prosecutions confirmed a committal mention scheduled for this Friday will not go ahead.
Home-grown dope charges to go ahead
A MAN charged with the cultivation of hydroponic cannabis at a home in Kangaroo Flat will remain in police custody.
Vietnamese man Trang Nguyen, 45, has been in custody since his arrest on August 9.
Police have charged Nguyen with running a sophisticated home-grown setup with 187 cannabis plants.
Nguyen appeared via videolink on Wednesday and was ordered to return to court for a further mention on November 13.
Trial for attempted armed-hold up
A BENDIGO man has been committed to stand trial for the attempted armed robbery of a convenience store.
Brandon Townsend, 20, was remanded in police custody after appearing in the Bendigo Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The court heard there was sufficient evidence tying him to the theft of a knife and the attempted hold-up of Williamson Street 24 Hour General Store on August 11.
Townsend, who also goes by the name Brandon Niaros, will stand trial in the Bendigo County Court on November 25.
