BENDIGO police are investigating a high-speed pursuit, after a car failed to stop and accelerated to 100 km/h in a 60km/h zone overnight.
Sergeant Mark Holloway said that at 2.20am, police attempted to intercept a white Ford at Strickland Rd, East Bendigo.
At that time, the driver was maintaining appropriate speeds, but sped up after police pursued the vehicle.
After driving around several dirt roads in the area while being followed by police, the driver drove back onto Strickland Rd and reached speeds of 100km/h in a 60km/h zone.
Police deemed the speeds unsafe and terminated the pursuit.
