BENDIGO Senior Secondary College's boys' cricket team won Tuesday's grand final at the School Sport Victoria championships.
The Lions beat McKinnon Secondary College by 62-runs in the championship decider at Croydon's Silkock Reserve.
Bendigo SSC, captained by Kangaroo Flat's Nathan Newlan and Golden Square's Jake Higgins, batted first in the grand final and scored 6-120 off 20 overs.
Mitch Blackman, 40, and Scott Woodman, 31, led the way.
McKinnon was dismissed for 58.
Blackman took 2-11 off three overs.
Higgins, 2-13 off four, and Josh Cruse, 2-9 off two overs kept the heat on.
Finals day began with the Duane Anderson-coached Lions winning a hard-fought semi against Maribyrnong.
The Lions reached 6-138.
Newlan hit 51 not out and Woodman chipped in with 21.
Maribyrnong's openers made a great start, but wickets then fell regularly.
Blackman took 3-12 off three overs as Bendigo Senior achieved a 22-run victory.
"It's been a fantastic performance by all of the team to win this title," Anderson said of an unbeaten run of five matches.
There were three changes made to BSSC's team for the finals.
Corey Bicknell, Hamish Schumacher and Corey Tanner were called up to replace the injured Steven Kairn and Callum Tibbett, and Zac Turnbull, who was unavailable.
The BSSC girls' cricket team was beaten in Tuesday's semi-final by Strathmore.
Jorja Polglase was the leading run-scorer as the Lions reached 40.
Sharni Simpson took 2-8 off two overs and captain Bree Gaylor bowled well for the Emma Grant-coached team at Oak Park.
