CAULFIELD Guineas winner Long John has joined the Bendigo Jockey Club's nursery of champions.
The honour board at the BJC track in White Hills includes famous names such as Hyperno and Better Loosen Up.
The 'nursery of champions' recognises Group One winners who achieved their first victory at Bendigo.
Long John broke through for his maiden victory in the Actice Air SV 2YO Handicap (1300m) win at the Bendigo Jockey Club meeting on March 28.
The Peter Snowden-trained galloper won by 1 1/4 lengths from Party Talk and Synthetic.
Long John started a $3.80 favourite in Saturday's $1million Caulfield Guineas.
Long John is now rated a top chance in next month's Victoria Derby.
The spring racing carnival heats up this Saturday when the Bendigo Jockey Club hosts its Beach Party Raceday at the Heinz Street course.
