BENDIGO business owner Janine Ralph knows a good opportunity when she sees it.
That's why she jumped at the chance to register her businesses Ad Infinitem Promotions for the upcoming Support Small Business Day.
"The Bendigo Advertiser has been giving it such good coverage," Ms Ralph said.
"There's more businesses signing on every day.
"It's just such a good initiative."
Ms Ralph and her husband Greg run their business from home but will open a pop-up shop on Saturday.
"Greg and I are opening a new office/showroom soon at 61 Wills Street, Bendigo, and are taking the opportunity to have a pop-up location' on Saturday where people can come along and see where we will be and what we do," Ms Ralph said.
"We will officially open in late October/early November but thought that this was too good an opportunity to make people aware of our new location."
Ms Ralph said people needed to register as a shopper for Support Small Business Day to view the special coupons some local businesses are offering.
"We're only going to be open from 10am to 2pm at Wills Street so it's really just a sampler for people to see where we are," Ms Ralph said.
"It's about getting our name out there and hopefully we'll get a lot of traffic."
Bendigo Traders Association president Ross White said it was great to see support for the event growing.
"We know we've got two or three local ones in the mall," Mr White said.
"I went out yesterday revving them up and saying, 'Get on board with this'.
"I'd encourage anyone thinking about it to sign up.
"It's a great opportunity for local businesses to get their message out there."
Support Small Business Day is a Victorian Government initiative being supported by the National Australia Bank.
NAB is offering $100,000 worth of shopper incentives, including more than 4000 NAB Support Small Business Day Gift Cards redeemable at participating businesses on the day.
