AXEDALE golfer Kris Mueck could be expected to have a little extra spring in his step this week.
After finishing runner-up at the WA Open on Sunday, Mueck has been propelled into the 144-strong field for the US$2 million Perth International, starting Thursday.
The European Tour co-sanctioned event is the richest on the PGA Tour of Australasia calendar.
Before the WA Open, Mueck was destined for pre-qualifying, but his stellar 10-under performance at Mount Lawley Golf Course has earned him a berth in Perth.
Last year's inaugural Perth International was a big pay-day for Mueck.
The 23-year-old made the cut and pocketed $5500 for finishing equal 56th.
American winner Bo Van Pelt walked away with a cool $304,000.
Another crack field will assemble for this year's event at Lake Karrinyup Country Club, including the defending champion.
Neangar Park professional Andrew Martin will also tee-off in Perth.
