EAGLEHAWK sounded an ominous warning in the Bendigo Bowls Division on Saturday with a crushing 44-shot victory over reigning premier Bendigo.
The Hawks dominated at home in a 111-67 victory in a brutal performance.
The Hawks' rinks of Phil Godkin and Terry Gilmore were particularly dominant, winning by a combined 35 shots.
The Hawks sit at the top of the ladder with the maximum 36 points, having also scored an all-rinks win over Bendigo East in round one.
* Kangaroo Flat won its second game, scoring a 96-78 win over Inglewood at home.
The Flat won all four rinks, but three were by four shots or less. The decisive result was John Carter's 26-16 win over Ian Chamberlain.
Kangaroo Flat's 2-0 start follows it being unable to string together consecutive wins last season.
* Bendigo East's slow start continued after it lost to Golden Square by 21 shots.
In a high-scoring clash, Golden Square triumphed 121-100 at home.
The rinks of Golden Square's Barry Anset (42), Brad Marron (36) and East's David Keenan (34) all scored more than 30 shots.
* South Bendigo just fell short of its first win back in division one after going down to Castlemaine 91-87.
