Behrens' 115 n.o. in the Redbacks' one-day win over Strathfieldsaye at Harry Trott Oval was his 25th first XI century.

Before Saturday's history-making knock, Behrens had been level with BDCA president Wayne Walsh's former record of 24 centuries.

"I wasn't thinking about breaking the record when I turned up at the ground this morning, but I'll take it," Behrens said.

"It was fairly hard going early today and I scratched around for a while. I didn't make many runs off my first 50 balls and my feet haven't been moving too well, so it just took time out in the middle to get going."

Behrens now has the double of the most centuries in BDCA history, as well as the association's highest score of 249 n.o., made against Huntly-North Bendigo in round two, 2003-04.

His 25 centuries include at least one against every side, except for his nemesis Strathdale-Maristians, who he had made a duck against the previous week.

Behrens set the new record when he cover drove Cory Devanny (1-49) for four off the last ball of the 42nd over to bring up his hundred.

After winning the toss and batting, Bendigo United scored 3-234 off its 45 overs.

The Redbacks had been 2-25 in the 10th over, with one of the early wickets that of Ben Gunn.

Having made 110 the previous week, Gunn - playing against his former side - was bowled by Ben Devanny for a third-ball duck.

From 2-25, Behrens and fellow veteran Matt Pinniger put on 165 for the third wicket.

Pinniger made his second-consecutive score in the 70s, compiling 73 off 87 balls, including nine fours and one six.

Behrens faced 132 balls for his 115 n.o., smashing 11 boundaries and five sixes.

Ben Devanny took 2-40 off nine overs for the Jets and then top-scored in their reply of 8-211 as they fell 23 runs short.

Devanny's 57 off 65 balls included four boundaries.

Former Bendigo United player Neil Johnson (34 off 38), opener David Farley (28 off 36), Brent Hargreaves (24 off  41) and Xavier Crone (23 n.o. off 20) also contributed during the chase.

Bendigo United's Miggy Podosky took the first three wickets to fall as he finished with 3-28 off nine overs.

* Strathdale-Maristians' 26-game unbeaten streak has ended at the hands of Eaglehawk.

In the grand final rematch at Canterbury Park, the Hawks prevailed by three wickets to inflict the Suns' first defeat since they lost to Strathfieldsaye by 52 runs on December 17, 2011.

The Suns were bowled out for just 144 in 43 overs after batting first.

They had been 5-127 before losing their last five wickets for just 17 runs.

Only Ben DeAraugo (38 off 69), who top-scored for the second week in a row, and opener Travis King (28 off 56) made more than 20 for the Suns.

Andrew Smith (2-26) and Nathan O'Neill (2-27) took two wickets each for the Hawks, while there were also three run-outs.

Eaglehawk's run-chase, led by Anthony West, got off to a flyer.

West belted a quickfire 39 off 36 balls (five fours, one six) before he was run out by Ryan Haythorpe in the ninth over with the score on 57.

West's wicket sparked a surge back into the game for the Suns as the Hawks lost 6-45 to fall to 6-102 and revive memories of their capitulation against the Suns at Canterbury Park a year earlier.

However, the Hawks steadied through Aaron Monro (24) and Shane Taylor (27 n.o.) to reach 7-145 in the 37th over to win the game.

West, Monro, Taylor and opener Smith (32) were the only Eaglehawk players to make double figures, while four were dismissed for two runs or less.

Left-arm spinner Nick Roebuck was the Suns' standout bowler, taking 2-13 off nine overs. Fellow spinner Cameron Taylor (0-22 off nine) was also economical.

In a bowler-dominated game, West's 39 was the highest score.

* Golden Square opener Scott Johnson scored a century in his side's 40-run win over Sandhurst at MyJet Oval.

Johnson made 106 in Golden Square's total of 6-241, with his knock laced with seven boundaries before he was run-out by Eli Bowe.

His innings included a 132-run partnership with Jason Johnson for the third wicket as they took the score from 2-95 to 227.

Jason Johnson scored 52 (three fours), while earlier captain Tim Wood (26) and Grant Connelly (22) were dismissed in the 20s.

Sandhurst didn't help its cause by dropping eight catches, including Scott Johnson early in his innings.

Eli Bowe (2-64) was Sandhurst's only multiple wicket-taker.

Steve Becker (1-24 off nine overs) bowled tight.

The Dragons replied with 9-201 off their 45 overs.

Nick Scullie (62 off 81, eight fours) and young opener Isaac Conway (44 off 73, two fours) were the best of the Sandhurst batsmen, while Alex McGauchie added 27 after coming in with the score at 5-150.

Scott Johnson capped a super all-round game by taking 3-40 and two catches. Luke Baird (3-33) also picked up three wickets for Golden Square.

* White Hills is two-from-two after beating Bendigo by six runs in a tight contest at Atkins Street.

The Demons posted 6-190 batting first after earlier being 2-18 following the dismissals of Jack Hebron (2) and Brayden Stepien (12).

The innings included a partnership of 90 between top-scorer Joel Logan (53 n.o. off 78, four fours) and Rhys Irwin (43 off 52, three fours, one six).

They took the score from 5-79 in the 22nd over to 169.

Sam Stagg (34 off 51) was also handy for the Demons.

Brett Andrews (2-23 off nine overs) bowled his usual tight spell and picked up the key wickets of White Hills captain Daniel Larke (22) and Gareth Davies (0).

Bendigo fell just short in its run chase after the Demons held the Goers to 7-184.

Opener Andrews (36 off 52) top-scored for the Goers, while Mitchell Blackman (33 off 79) and Mark Ryan (31 off 40) also scored in the 30s.

Travis Colley (2-27) and new leg-spinner Jake Foley (2-29) took two wickets apiece for the Demons, who have already doubled their tally of wins of last season.

* Huntly-North Epsom recorded its first win of the season.

The Power defeated Kangaroo Flat by 18 runs at Poyser Motors Oval.

Captain Linc McRae (51 off 107, two fours), Josh Collinson (34 off 34, four fours) and Sam Johnson (26 off 26) helped the Power to 8-172 batting first.

There were plenty of starts in the Power innings, with six of the eight batsmen dismissed making double figures.

Kangaroo Flat captain Adam Burns (1-10) conceded just 10 runs off his eight overs. Leg-spinner Chris Barber (2-35) and Tom Harper (2-17) picked up two wickets each.

Kangaroo Flat was held to 9-154 in reply as it lost by less than 20 runs for the second week in a row.

Brent Hamblin (32 off 67, two fours, one six), the evergreen Brad Orton (27 off 27, three fours) and Burns (24 off 44) were the Roos' leading run-scorers.

Coach Quinton Bentley was outstanding with the ball for the Power with 3-18 off nine overs, while Johnson (2-22 off nine) also kept the pressure on Kangaroo Flat.
