A TOURIST from the United Kingdom was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital on Saturday evening after she slipped following a rock climb at Mount Macedon.
Emergency services were called to Camel's Hump Track after the woman slipped and fell.
An air ambulance was called to the incident but later cancelled.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the woman was in a serious but stable condition.
"It's a female in her 20s with head and facial injuries," he said about 6pm on Saturday.
"She's fallen from a height of four meters."
Sergeant Rob Rankin from Kyneton Police said the incident wasn't as bad as it was first believed.
"She wasn't climbing, she just slipped," Sergeant Rankin said.
"They'd finished their climb and she just slipped down the track.
"She was part of a climbing club, it was her first time."
