A PLUMBING business has been angered by the theft of a ute, trailer and excavator overnight.
Staff at Peter Carr plumbing arrived Friday morning to find their side fence had been flattened and the equipment stolen.
Manager Ian Smith said he was frustrated someone would commit such a brazen theft.
He said barbed wire had been cut from the fence adjoining Newmarket Hotel bottle shop and their side fence had been run over.
"They've come in and hooked up the ute to the machine then driven down our driveway and done a very tight 90 degree turn that flattened the fence," he said.
"It's very frustrating and left us with a major inconvenience. They're mongrels."
Mr Smith said the fence would have to be re-built today and alternative arrangements put in place to meet jobs.
He said it was estimated to be worth more than $47,000 of equipment stolen.
Hundreds of dollars of diesel was also stolen in the theft that occurred sometime between 7pm Thursday and 7am Friday.
The stolen ute and excavator are both emblazoned with blue and orange logos saying 'Peter Carr plumbing'.
Anyone with information on the theft is urged to contact Bendigo Police on 5448 1300.
