DANCERS partied long after the stroke of midnight to celebrate the success of the Glass Slipper Ball.
Among those celebrating were the overall winners on the night, Anne and Paul Henshall.
David and Angela Lloyd were named the couple with the X factor, and the community fundraising title went to Ken and Sharon Marchingo.
More than 350 people attended the ball, which has raised at least $87,000.
Mayor councillor Lisa Ruffell this week congratulated the Bendigo community for its generosity.
“This is a terrific result and a big thank you to the rest of the couples who joined Martin and I in the dancing with our stars dance program,'' she said.
"Without their fantastic efforts we would not have been able to raise these funds for such a good cause.''
Foundation chair Sue Clarke said she was “over the moon” with the outcome and congratulated all the couples, adding that it was very hard for the judges to make a decision regarding the winners.
Funds will be used to establish the Community Foundation for Central Victoria Glass Slipper Fund, which will distribute money across Central Victoria for children and young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, may have mental health issues or need assistance to access to education and or life skills.
Cr Ruffell said she looked forward to supporting the fund and was keen to attend the glass slipper cocktail event in November. She congratulated Sue and the board of the Community Foundation for Central Victoria for their work.
