DOZENS of people attended a football match as part of Mental Health Week on Wednesday.
About 70 people watched Vic Metro defeat Vic Country by 10 points at Tom Flood Sports Centre.
Organiser Peter Nelson said the event aimed to raise awareness of mental health issues.
“The idea is that it’s a celebration of Mental Health Week,” he said.
“We were quite happy with the crowds.
“People certainly enjoyed it.”
The day featured a free barbecue and sprint, which was won by Corey Williams.
A free come and try day will be held on Thursday at Bendigo Bowls club between 1pm and 3pm.
Art exhibitions are also on display at Heathcote Art Gallery until October 15 and in the Bendigo Bank foyer until October 18.
Bendigo Health acting executive director psychiatric services Peter Robertson said the aim was to engage the community.
