It has been a busy week of training camp in Cleveland.
First, in response to a couple of questions I received.
@iambren10 - Who is the best at the NBA’s video game?
We haven’t had any time to play yet but I’d say there is a fair chance that Kyrie Irving will be the best since he is on the cover of “NBA Live 2014”!
@P3FP - How are you finding the pace of NBA compared to college?
The pace is definitely faster and the players are taller with longer arms so it cuts down on your driving and passing lanes but I think I am adjusting well to it.
On Monday before training camp started we had media day.

- Matthew Dellavedova
We had to get a lot of pictures and talk to the media as well.
It was a pretty easy day for me but it would have been much busier for the other boys!
Training camp was intense and a lot of hard work.
There was a lot of teaching and defensive drills.
As a team we got a lot better from session to session and I definitely learnt a lot as well.
Having two, three-hour sessions a day was hard on the body but the ice baths and foam rollers always help keep you going!
One of my old coaches from Saint Mary’s during my freshmen year, and now the Head Coach for Columbia University, Kyle Smith, came to watch training the other day. It was really good to catch up with him.
One of the best/toughest parts of training were the one-on-one drills versus Kyrie (pictured in the NBA All-Star game) - I just try to make it as hard as possible for him each time.
On Saturday we had a scrimmage at Baldwin Wallace University that was put on for the US military and their families.
It was not your typical scrimmage, it was a big show!
We were throwing t-shirts into the crowd before the game.
There were introductions with cheerleaders and court announcers.
We had a mini practice before we started.
The game was called off just after half time, unfortunately, due to the court being slippery.
After the game, we gave away our singlets (jerseys) to kids which was pretty cool.
On Wednesday (Australian time) we have our first pre-season game versus the Milwaukee Bucks at home, so I can't wait for that!
I’ve signed up and picked my team for the NBL Dream Team. My team is called the ‘Maryborough Blazer’.
If you think you can beat me, make sure you go to dreamteam.nbl.com.au and pick your team!
Also, a big Happy Birthday to my Grandpa Mitchell who turned 93 yesterday!
If anyone has ideas or some questions, I’ll answer a couple each week - you can tweet to me @matthewdelly.
Thanks! Have a good week everyone!
