AN anonymous tip-off has helped police retrieve a laptop that was stolen from the backyard of a Golden Square home.
A 22-year-old man has been charged over the theft after allegedly jumping the back fence of the house and stealing the laptop from a table. Police recovered the laptop Monday night following a number of reports from the public.
Leading Senior Constable Mick Arnott said publicity surrounding the case had helped the investigation. He said it was a positive outcome from an opportunistic crime.
Homeowner Loretta Dillon said she had been shaken by the theft. She said she and her granddaughter who owns the laptop were excited to hear it had been recovered. "We're very glad," she said.
