THE self-proclaimed "grey army" of volunteers spend every Monday sorting through thousands of second-hand books from all over Victoria.
The books will go on sale at the Y Secondhand Book Fair at the Tom Tweed YMCA Stadium on Saturday and Sunday.
The book fair is one of the Y Service Men's Club of Bendigo major fund-raisers.
Book Fair coordinator Peter Searle said there will most definitely be a book for everyone at the sale.
"We get thousands of books all throughout the year for our Easter and spring sale," he said.
"There will be plenty of children's books, lots of non-faction and hard and soft back couples, DVDs, videos, CDs records and jigsaws."
Funds raised by the Y Service Men's Club of Bendigo go back into community projects and organisations.
"It works well because people donate things, we act as a middle man and all benefits go back into the community.
"We distribute about $50,000 each year to the YMCA, as well as to supporting community groups like the Bendigo Youth Choir, the OTIS Foundation and the CFA."
The fair is open Saturday from 9am to 5pm and Sunday from 9am to 3pm.
