FLOWERS are in full bloom this October as the Bendigo Orchid Club prepares for its annual show.
Organisers are hoping Bendigonians will have a spring in their step and see what is on show at the orchid festival.
Bendigo Orchid Club member Samantha Hamilton said Australian native and exotic orchids would be on display at the three-day festival.
“People will also be able to purchase orchids and people will be able to get tips on how to grow orchids,” she said.
“We have people coming from the Kerang Orchid Club as well as other districts.”
Mrs Hamilton said she loved growing orchids.
“I have been doing it for about 20 years,” she said.
“I did it with my Nanna, she gave me a lot of orchids and now I look after them.”
Mrs Hamilton said the orchid show had been running in Bendigo for more than a decade.
She said members looked forward to the showing off their prized possessions every year.
The Spring Show will be held at the Kangaroo Flat YMCA Leisure Centre on Friday between 1pm and 5pm, Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to4pm.
Entry is $5 with all children set to receive a free orchid.
Coffee, tea and biscuits will also be on offer.
