ANGRY Bendigo Warehouse Sales customers are wondering if they will be out of pocket after the business went into liquidation earlier this week.
Several people on the Bendigo Advertiser’s website said they had lay-bys at the store or had paid for goods and were waiting on delivery.
They were concerned they may have lost their money after the store closed its doors on Tuesday.
A sign on the Mitchell Street business says to call KPMG on a phone number provided.
However, many customers said the number goes to voice mail and calls were not returned.
KMPG partner Damian Templeton said KMPG workers were manning the phones but were struggling to deal with the amount of inquiries.
"If customers have left a message, we will get back to them," he said.
He encouraged customers to have all documents ready to send through to KMPG.
Epsom’s Fiona Grant had paid $1100 off a $1400 fridge lay-by at Bendigo Warehouse Sales.
Ms Grant was planning to pay the remaining $300 left on the lay-by on Wednesday - one day before the store closed.
"I've tried ringing the number on the door and it doesn’t work," she said.
"It's frustrating. Last week I told the staff I would pick it up this week, and now they've closed.
"I can’t afford to lose that amount of money, plus not having the fridge as well, it really sets me back."
