FORMER Queensland female entertainer of the year, Jo Jo Smith, will lead the last Blues Tram on Saturday, the last before November’s Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival.
Successful session vocalist has Smith played, recorded and toured with Renee Geyer, Kate Cebrano, John English, Marcia Hines and Olivia Newton-John.
Kyneton’s Tully Summer will also perform on Saturday.
Smith, who lives in Violet Town, said she was looked forward to playing again in Bendigo, after performing at last year’s Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival.
“I have a short lived connection with Bendigo but it’s a strong one,” she said.
“It’s about all the wonderful musicians I’ve ever played with,” she said.
“I’ve just finished it this past hour and I’ve had a wonderful time putting it together.”
Smith has also recently finished recording her latest album in Byron Bay, Standing in the Lovelight
The tram leaves the Central Deborah Goldmines at 2pm on Saturday, October 5.
Tickets are $29 and available from the Bendigo Visitor Centre.
Over 100 acts will play over the four-day festival from November 7 to 10.
