HALF of Victoria Country's under-14 squad at this week's Football Federation Australia national youth championships hail from Bendigo clubs.
The five-day championships kick off in Coffs Harbour Monday.
Teaming up for Victoria Country in the under-14s action are Eaglehawk's Bah Blu Htoo Kunoo, Pleh Eh Ywa Hlang, Wee La Mor Klag; Golden City's Milos Babovic, Oscar Perez, Matthew Sporle; and Strathdale's Alexander Caldow and Peter Marziano.
The Victoria Metropolitan line-up to play at the titles includes the Bendigo Amateur Soccer League's Oliver Leonard-Shannon and Jordan Ross.
Castlemaine brothers Lachan and Oscar Capp will team up for Victoria Country in the under-13s matches.
The Bendigo Amateur Soccer League's young guns have put in many hours training with the Bendigo Bank Academy of Sport's football squad.
Lead coach at the Academy program, Nick Mammone will be a keen spectator throughout the week in Coffs Harbour.
"It's a fantastic effort by all these players from Bendigo clubs to earn selection," Mammone said.
"There have been a lot of players from Bendigo clubs play at national youth titles over the years, but never this many in one age group."
In Monday's play, Victoria Country takes on Northern Territory, and Victoria Metro faces Queensland Country.
