CENTRAL Victorian Police will honour the memory of those who lost their lives during the course of duty at a service on Sunday.
The National Police Remembrance Day service is being held at the RSL Soldiers Forecourt in Pall Mall from 11am.
Senior Sergeant Craig Gaffee said the annual service was a chance for police and the community to pay homage to the people who died serving their communities.
"It is important to acknowledge those who have worked for the police and passed away," he said.
"It is also important to recognise the work police members do in general."
Sergeant Gaffee encouraged civic leaders, students and the local community to attend.
He said the service will include a march, an orchestra, wreath-laying and a speech by Sergeant Tony Kekich of the Bendigo Police.
"(Sergeant Kekich) has worked at the Bendigo Police for a long time," Sergeant Gaffee said.
"He also worked with the two members of the Bendigo Police who recently passed away."
Serving and retired police officers will march from the Old Police Station in Bull Street to the RSL Soldiers Forecourt in Pall Mall.
Those wishing to participate in the Remembrance March should meet at the Old Police Station at 10.30am.
