THE Bendigo Pacing Cup sponsorship deal has been struck for another three years.
Bendigo Harness Racing Club president Dennis Bice said on Thursday a new three-year partnership with Petstock Animal Supplies had been agreed to.
Bendigo Harness Racing Club CEO David Aldred joined Chris Walker, Petstock's area manager for northern Victoria, and Petstock Bendigo store manager Cameron Hyatt for Thursday's announcement.
Petstock has been the club's principal sponsor since 2010, with the Group Two Bendigo Pacing Cup the main event.
The 2014 edition of the Bendigo Pacing Cup will be run on January 11 at Lord's Raceway in Junortoun.
Bice said the agreeement to sponsor the Cup in 2014, '15 and '16 was signifcant to the club's business plan.
"We are thrilled that Petstock will continue to sponsor the pacing cup for the next three years," Bice said.
"We look forward to working with the entire Petstock team to give the company brand prime exposure at all of our harness racing meetings."
Petstock area manager for northern Victoria, Chris Walker has had a close association with the club during the past sponsorship deal.
Walker had a hands-on role as a member of the club's committee the past financial year.
"We value our partnershjp with harness racing in Victoria and are pleased to have both the Bendigo Pacing Cup and Ballarat Pacing Cup in our sponsorship stable," Walker sid.
He said the business had received increased support from central Victorian-based trainers and BHRC members during its sponsorship agreement.
"The Bendigo Pacing Cup night and promotion makes for an outstanding event.
"We are excited to be a part of its ongoing growth."
A goal for the BHRC is to have the Pacing Cup achieve Group One status in the future.
This year's Bendigo Pacing Cup was won by the Paul Rowse-trained Decorated Jasper.
Jodi Quinlan was the winning driver against a field which included Auckland Reactor and Sushi Sushi.
