Top of the day to you Bendigo!
You could be forgiven for thinking you were on the set of a horror movie this morning in Bendigo with all this mist.
The forest behind my home this morning looked particularly creepy.
I half expected a Freddy-Kruger lookalike or an enraged mutated kangaroo to run at me full pace from behind the cover of foggy trees when I was coming to work this morning.
However, lucky for you, I did survive so I can bring you your morning info.
Maximum of 16 degrees. Cloudy, with a few showers from the late morning. The chance of a thunderstorm during the afternoon. Click here for more detailed weather information.
Running approximately 10 minutes late.
Mirabella set to be bumped
The Australian Electoral Commission says independent Cathy McGowan is 'pretty certain' of victory in the federal seat of Indi.
Mrs McGowan leads the Liberal Party’s Sophie Mirabella, who has held the seat for the past 12 years, by 387 votes
The AEC told the Guardian Australia there were just 645 pre-poll and postal votes left to process and count, making it unlikely that Mirabella will overtake McGowan in the north eastern Victorian electorate.
Tomic Snr reflects on an missed opportunity
The father of tennis player Bernard Tomic has hit back at claims made by Tomic’s former hitting partner, Thomas Drouet, in a series of dairies published in newspapers worldwide this week.
John Tomic’s response to Drouet’s dairies, which include an allegation that Tomic Snr punched Mr Drouet, was, “I am now regretting why I really didn't punch him”.
Tomic Snr also rejected Drouet's most serious allegations, including that he punched Bernard in the face during a practice session, and drew blood after shooting him in the leg with a BB gun.
