EAGLEHAWK coach Luke Monaghan is putting his faith in the same 22 players who delivered for the Hawks in last week's Bendigo Football League first semi-final.
The Hawks will take on Strathfieldsaye on Saturday night in the BFL preliminary final at the Queen Elizabeth Oval.
Awaiting the winner in next week's grand final is four-time defending premiers Golden Square.
For the first time this season, the Hawks will take an unchanged line up into the game.
"Damian Wust came into the side last week as a late call-up for Luke Milroy and did really well, so we're sticking with the same 22 who did the job for us," Monaghan said on Friday.
"We've gone into the finals picking players to do specific roles, and the players are doing that.
"When the pressure is on in finals, you want blokes standing up and playing their roles, and we're rewarding those who did it for us last week."
The Hawks last week kicked away from Gisborne in the second half of the first semi-final to win by 64 points to move into their third preliminary final in the past four years.
Strathfieldsaye last week squandered a grand final berth when it lost the second semi-final to Golden Square by eight points, having led at half-time by 34 points.
The Hawks go into Saturday night's game 0-2 against the Storm this year, with Monaghan mindful of the scoreboard damage Strathfieldsaye can inflict if his side lapses.
"The first time we played them, they kicked nine goals in the first quarter," Monaghan said.
"The second time, they kicked six goals in the third quarter against us.
"They were only lapses of 10 or 15 minutes, so if we don't concentrate for the full 30 minutes in each quarter, Strathfieldsaye can really open you up.
"They did that for a period against Golden Square last week.
"They are very good at taking advantage of their momentum, so we've got to make sure we're switched on for four quarters.
"We think we've got the players and the structure to win, but we've just got to make sure we put it together on the night."
Saturday night's game starts at 6pm.
