EAGLEHAWK has advanced to the BFNL preliminary final after thrashing Gisborne in tonight's first semi-final at the QEO.
Gisborne kicked the first three goals of the night and still led by a point at half-time.
However, the second half was one-way traffic as Eaglehawk kicked 12 goals to two, winning 18.14 (122) to 8.10 (58).
The Hawks had 11 individual goalkickers, with full-forward Matt Gretgrix bagging six goals.
Defender Darcy Richards was superb for the Borough. He floated forward in the third term, kicking two goals to help break open the game.
After a quiet first term, Brodie Filo was brilliant through the middle of the ground, while centre half-forward Kain Robins continued his outstanding form, grabbing 10 marks and kicking 1.2.
Gisborne's field kicking was poor and Eaglehawk's back six constantly swept the ball away.
The Bulldogs had few four quarter performers. Key forward Harrison Huntley kicked two goals and looked dangerous, but he wasn't helped by poor delivery.
Eaglehawk plays the loser of Sunday's second semi-final between Strathfieldsaye and Golden Square in next Saturday night's preliminary final.
