Hogan will become just the third Braves player to reach the 300-game landmark, following in the footsteps of club legends David Flint and Justin Cass.

“It’s funny how it works out. I’ve had injuries and that sort of stuff, so hopefully it’s all fate that I get to share my 300th with Taylor Bell in his 250th and, hopefully, a conference championship with everyone else,” Hogan said.

“It’s fairytale stuff if it does happen, I guess.”

Hogan debuted in 2002 and has been a part of a national championship and four conference title-winning Braves teams.

“Winning makes everything a hell of a lot easier and more enjoyable, that’s for sure, but if I didn’t enjoy the guys I was playing with and the camaraderie I probably wouldn’t continue to do it,” Hogan said.

“Highlights are playing with and playing under guys like Dave Flint, Justin Cass, Ben Harvey, Sam Fotu, Ricky D (Daniels)...the list goes on and on.

“Probably one of the most important ones was with one of my best mates – getting to play over 200 games with Warren Randall was special as well.

“Amongst that dad’s done some managing and probably more recently to play parts of this season and last season with my little brother DJ (David).”

Hogan said he’s planning to play on next season.

It means he could eclipse Flint’s club record of 318 games.

“I reckon I’ll keep playing. My legs, my knees and all that stuff still works, probably not as well as it used to, but well enough,” Hogan said.

But Hogan, who credited the support of his family and partner Kim for helping him reach 300 games, will have only one thing on his mind on Saturday night – beating Dandenong.

“It’ll be intense,” he said.

“If we can slow the tempo down a little bit I think it will suit our game.

“If we keep them below 85 or 80 points we should win.”
