A LONG GULLY man is “gutted” after his prized 1966 Norton motorcycle was stolen on Sunday night.
Ken Maher left his Comet Street home for work at 6.30pm and returned at 4am to find his shed had been broken into.
His $25,000 motorcycle was missing, plus a jacket and one glove.
The Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit’s Detective Senior Constable Michael Thompson said it appeared the bike had been specifically targeted for theft.
Mr Maher bought the motorbike about nine years ago and totally stripped and rebuilt it with the help of Classic Road and Race Motorcycles’ Michael Panayi.
He described the bike as his “pride and joy”.
“I was just gutted when I saw it was gone,” he said. Then I was angry. I just hope I can get it back.”
Detective Senior Constable Thompson urged anyone with information about the theft to contact him on 5443 1800.
