A BENDIGO couple had a Father’s Day to remember after winning over $5000 worth of items in a raffle organised by the Eaglehawk Lions Club.
Dianne and Bob Leach’s winning ticket was pulled out of a concrete mixer on Saturday morning outside Fitzpatrick’s Home Timber and Hardware.
They won a trailer full of goodies including, most importantly, a landmower.
“Our mower has absolutely had it and we had begun to look at buying a new one,” Dianne said.
“I couldn’t believe it when we got told we won.”
Eaglehawk Lions Club raised over $5500 through the raffle and a sausage sizzle, which it will put back into the community. President Eddie Williams said they all had a great morning.
“We couldn’t fulfill our obligation to the community without the support of our sponsors and the public.
“We are very grateful for it.”
