RISING swim star Jenna Strauch will turn her attention to her pet 200m breaststroke event after failing to qualify for the 100m final at the World Junior Championships in Dubai.
Strauch qualified 13th fastest for the 100m breaststroke semis and was 14th fastest in the semi-finals in 1:10.30.
The former Bendigo East Swimming Club member has performed strongly in Dubai at the biggest event of her career.
The 16-year-old placed fifth in the 50m breaststroke final earlier in the meet and she’s a proven 200m swimmer.
Strauch finished second in the event at the 200m at the Australian open titles in May in Adelaide and narrowly missed selection in the senior world championships team.
Strauch, who now swims for Melbourne Vicentre, will leap off the starting blocks in the 200m tomorrow afternoon and could also swim in the girls’ 4x100m medley relay.
Finals in both events will be held tomorrow night.
