BENDIGO swimmer Jenna Strauch qualified fourth-fastest for the final of the 50m breaststroke at the World Junior Swimming Championships in Dubai.
The final was held overnight (AEST), with Strauch a genuine medal chance.
Strauch was 11th fastest in the heats in a time of 32.51 on Monday and improved her time to by more than a second to 31.50 in Monday night’s semi-finals.
Strauch was 1.46 seconds behind fastest qualifier Ruta Mielutyte from Lithuania.
The central Victorian star was only .20 behind the second-fastest qualifier, and .12 behind third.
