WITNESSES to an alcohol-fuelled brawl outside the Maiden Gully Community Hall on Friday night have described the scene as “chaos”.
Maiden Gully General Store and Takeaway employees Kirsty and Melissa Gray said they saw people throwing bins and chairs at other people, while other youths lay naked on the road.
Melissa said she drove past the hall at 12.15am and nearly hit several youths who were threatening to run into her car.
“It was pretty out of hand,” she said. “There were people all over the road and they were slamming into cars that drove past.
“A naked man had six people hold him down.”
Kirsty said there were at least a hundred people on the street from about 10pm onwards.
“All you could hear was girls screaming.
“Then the police came and a whole lot of them started marching up the highway.
“Some stayed on there for hours.”
Kirsty said the party was the talk of Maiden Gully over the weekend.
“Nothing like this has really happened at the hall before. It’s normally just family parties.
“Everyone who came in here was complaining about it.”
