BENDIGO Senior Secondary College's alumni group Old Gold marked the centenary of the Old Gold Quadrangle on Saturday.
The Old Gold Quadrangle was the centrepiece of the original Bendigo High School.
About 70 people took part in the quadrangle centenary celebrations on Saturday with visitors to the school given the chance to wander through classrooms and reminisce about years gone by.
Bendigo Senior Secondary College principal Dale Pearce the event was a celebration of both "the old and new".
"It's just a nice, pleasant afternoon for us," he said.
"This particular space, the quadrangle, seems to hold a special significance for a lot of our former students.
"So it's good to see a few of them back here this afternoon."
Former student and staff member Dorothy Pye said the celebrations were a great chance to catch up with old friends.
"I worked in the office from '57 to '85," she said.
"I come back reasonably often but it is nice to see the older ones here today."
