BENDIGO tumblers have set the standard for Victoria at the Australian Gymnastics Championships in Sydney.
Reuben Roessler, Billie-Jo Sellick and Latisha Painter from Palmer’s Gym in Mundy Street each soared into the top 10 in Australia for their age groups.
“It’s an awesome effort for them to be ranked that number in Australia, and they were the only three Victorian tumblers,” coach Emma Carmody said.
Roessler, 15, starred at his first appearance on the national stage.
He won bronze with his eight-skill pass in the junior men’s division and was fourth at under-17s level – a five-skill event.
Painter took out sixth place in the under-17s girls’ tumbling with her five-skill effort.
Sellick, 11, performed strongly in the five-skill event to finish eighth in the under-13 girls.
