Basketballers from around the region are invited to form teams of four for the tournament.
All proceeds will go to the Bendigo YMCA’s Y Foundation.
“The YMCA runs the Peter Krenz Memorial Golf Day each February and that has been really successful for us,’’ Bendigo Regional YMCA operations manager David Flint said.
“Over the past five years our golf day has raised over $50,000 that all goes directly back into the community.
“We wanted to run another event which would complement that day.
“Because we sponsor the Bendigo Spirit and the Bendigo Braves we thought a three-on-three basketball event would be perfect.”
Bendigo Braves and Lady Braves players will be in attendance on Sunday to referee games.
“It should be a lot of fun,’’ Flint said.
“Three-on-three is a great format. It’s played on half a court so there’s not too much running involved.
“This is an event we think will grow in years to come.”
There’s still room for five teams to enter Sunday’s McKern Steel-backed tournament.
Cost per team is $100 and the challenge starts from 10am.
To enter phone David Flint on 0448 555 570 or Kevin Probert on 5440 6200.
