Victoria Police recently offered a $100,000 reward for information about Pyramid Hill woman Krystal Fraser’s disappearance.
Krystal was last seen alive on Saturday, June 20, 2009.
Detectives say Krystal travelled on a V/Line train from Bendigo to Pyramid Hill on the day of her disappearance, getting off at Pyramid Hill railway station about 8.40pm.
She was last seen leaving an address in Albert Street, Pyramid Hill, about 9.30pm after visiting an acquaintance. Krystal was wearing an orange top, black tracksuit pants and a camouflage-patterned baseball cap.
She received a call on her mobile phone from a public phone outside the Leitchville Post Office shortly before midnight on the day she disappeared.
It is believed the caller was the last person to speak to Krystal before her disappearance.
Police suspect she has been killed because she has not used her mobile phone, touched her bank account or visited a hospital since she was last seen.
A Victoria Police spokesman confirmed yesterday that the $100,000 reward was yet to attract any new leads. The spokesman urged anyone with information about Krystal’s disappearance to telephone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The renewed call for assistance came as part of National Missing Persons Week, which was held this week.
Earlier this week, Victoria Police announced the re-establishment of a dedicated missing persons unit within the homicide squad.
The unit will begin by reviewing 70 long-term missing person cases and will also monitor an average of 6000 missing person reports made to Victoria Police every year, aiming to identify suspicious cases that are probable homicides.
