The fierce rivalry from State of Origin rugby league will be taken to the bowls green as New South Wales and Queensland meet in the women’s pairs final.

The Blues’ Claire Turley and Karen Murphy will vie for Super 6 glory against the Maroons’ Kristy Thatcher and Lynsey Armitage.

In the men’s pairs, South Australia’s Simon Dorr and Wayne Ruediger will pit their skills against Tasmania’s Michael Sims and Robert McMullen.

The bronze medal clash will be between NSW duo Matt Baus and Aron Sherriff against Queenslanders Robert Wild and Sean Ingham.

There were many closely-fought contests in the triples action.

Today’s duel for the gold medal will be the NSW trio of Ray Pearse, Ben Twist and Shan Garvey against Victoria’s Dylan Fisher, Barrie Lester and Matthew Flapper.

Just last week, Flapper was in superb form at the Bowls Victoria championships played on the Bendigo East greens.

It will be another showdown between New South Wales and Queensland in the women’s triples final.

The Blues have Kay Moran, Katrina Wright and Natasha Van Eldik taking on Queensland’s Natasha Jones, Pamela Rowe and Louise Witton in the Super 6 decider.

After tomorrow’s rest day, the Australian Sides Championships start on Monday at the Bendigo Bowls Club.

Round one will be played from 9am, with the second round to start at 2pm.

The championships action keeps rolling until Thursday.
