Nine cafes have so far entered the race, with readers able to vote on their preferred brew from Saturday, April 20.
Voters will have the chance to win a new coffee machine thanks to Good Guys Bendigo owner Danny Clapp.
Mr Clapp said coffee machines were growing in popularity, with sales at the store almost doubling in the last 12 months.
“It’s probably increased about 170 per cent on the previous year,” he said.
“The store is certainly booming as far as coffee goes, and coffee shops are booming as well.”
Mr Clapp said making coffee at home had become a lot easier.
“It used to be a bit of a chore in the old days,” he said. “They’re now easier to use.”
Mr Clapp said about half of all machine sales were for capsule machines instead of ground coffee machines.
“The one they can win is a Map capsule coffee machine worth $299,” he said.
“It’s very popular.
“A lot of people are buying coffee machines because of the quality of the coffee available and the ease of making a short black, latte, a cappuccino, or other sorts of coffees.
“I think the whole coffee culture is taking off worldwide.”
