BENDIGO filly Villa Verde lost her unbeaten status when she finished second to Overreach in today's Reisling Stakes at Rosehill.
Villa Verde, trained by Shaun Dwyer, was no match for Overreach in the final 200m of the 1200m event.
Villa Verde loomed up alongside Overreach with 300m to go, but the Gai Waterhouse-trained filly burst clear in the concluding stages to win by more than four lengths.
Overreach's win will further strengthen her tag as Golden Slipper favourite.
The Slipper will be run on April 6.
Leading into today's race Dwyer said Villa Verde would improve off her first-up run into the Slipper.
She'll need to if she's to become Bendigo's first winner of the Slipper.
