Nick’s lifelong commitment to Bendigo's Good Friday Appeal

NICK Scott has been collecting money for the Good Friday Appeal since he was 13 years old.

The Kangaroo Flat resident, now aged 57, has collected thousands of dollars for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Mr Scott is a volunteer with the Bendigo Uncle Bob’s Club, a group that has been lending a helping hand to sick and needy children across central Victoria for nearly 40 years. Mr Scott said  he volunteered his time to support the cause because the Royal Children’s Hospital had helped him when he was younger.

Mr Scott urged the Bendigo community to dig deep this year and help to make a difference.

“People are very generous on Good Friday and I just encourage people to donate again this year,” he said. Every year, Uncle Bob’s Club volunteers man major intersections across the greater Bendigo region in a bid to raise money for the Good Friday Appeal.

Last year the club raised $76,450.
