A Capital plan for good craic

TOMORROW will be filled with festivities for Bendigo’s Rosemarie Farrell.

The former Ireland resident will reconnect with her roots and celebrate St Patrick’s Day with a traditional Irish breakfast before performing with the band Irish Rose at The Capital.

Ms Farrell moved to Australia four years ago from Dunboyne – a small town in Co Meath, Ireland.

She said her love of Irish music continued to blossom, especially since the birth of her daughter Ava.

“It’s very important for Ava to have a connection to her Irish heritage, and what better way than through music,” Ms Farrell said.

Ms Farrell said family from Sydney would help her celebrate St Pat’s.

“We will start the morning having a traditional Irish breakfast at the Brian Boru which they will be serving between 8am to 10am,” she said. “After that I’ll be having a rehearsal for my 2pm show at The Capital theatre here in Bendigo.”

Ms Farrell is the lead singer for Irish Rose – a band she formed with Brendan Gallagher last year to perform at the Eaglehawk Dahlia and Arts Festival.

Tickets to Irish Rose’s performance are available from The Capital by phoning 5434 6100.
