STAFF at Stearns Showcase Jewellers are urging locals to throw their support behind the Bendigo Spirit.
The team will take on the Townsville Fire in the WNBL on Sunday and staff at the jewellery store have created a display urging the team on to glory.
“We think it’s fantastic what they’ve achieved,” store manager Leanne Waterson said.
“Bendigo hasn’t got a huge population and I think it’s great for a town the size of Bendigo.
“They’ve made a grand final in a national league.
“We hope the town will get behind them.”
Ms Waterson said students from three schools had contributed to the display.
“We’ve had a lot of people coming in and saying it’s wonderful we’re supporting them,” she said.
“It’s even people just coming past and saying what a great job we’ve been doing, not necessarily customers. All the photos that have been in the Advertiser have been cut out and put up as well.”
Ms Waterson said the store asked people to bring in items to support the team and that at least one staff member had attended each home game this season.
