Bendigo's pink pony parade aids breast cancer research

PONIES and other four-legged creatures sported pink yesterday in support of breast cancer research.

The Bendigo Pony Club drew about 80 people to its annual fundraiser.

Club president Lisa Maud said it was always a well-supported event.

A Star Vaulting team from Geelong volunteered to do demonstrations for the crowd yesterday.

From the donation fees and cake stalls, Ms Maud said the group had raised almost $1000.

“Every March rally we dedicate to breast cancer awareness,” she said.

“This is our fourth year doing a breast cancer fundraiser. Everybody gets behind it and supports it really well. Even the dogs and ponies were dressed in pink.”

Ms Maud said the event would continue to be a yearly tradition.
