A new office building is being built from the sky-down.
The second-storey office is being constructed on top of the DCK real estate building, in a redevelopment that's the first of its kind for Bendigo.
A crowd of onlookers have watched as the pieces of the building are slowly being lifted and put in place.
Work began at 5am with Queen Street blocked off between Mitchell Street and Edward Street.
A total of 16 modules will be assembled in pre-prepared slots.
The building will be the new office for O'farrell Robertson Mcmahon lawyers.
DCK director Matt Bowles said the work was part of a $1.5 million redevelopment.
Mr Bowles said it was an innovative design that had never been done before in Bendigo.
"It's something unique," he said.
"But I think it will set the tone for other redevelopments around the city."
Construction workers said the redevelopment is set to be completed by about 5pm.
