Bendigo shows its true colours ahead of Spirit's big WNBL grand final

LOCAL shops, cafes and businesses are getting behind the Bendigo Spirit in the lead-up to the historic Women's National Basketball League grand final on March 10.

Posters and decorations can be seen pasted around town, as the countdown to the Spirit’s first ever grand final appearance begins.

Cafe Thirty8 assistant manager Naomi Bowles said the business was keen to support the basketball team and also the national event.

“It is fantastic that the team made it to the grand final and it is even better that the grand final is being held in Bendigo,” she said. “It is a national event so every business in town should try to support it.”

She said it was important for local businesses to show their support even if was simply displaying a poster in the window.

A big Bendigo Spirit supporter poster appears in today's Bendigo Advertiser and local businesses and residents are urged to show their support for the team by displaying the poster.
