C'MON Bendigo... let's show our support for the Bendigo Spirit.
Hundreds of fans packed Bendigo Stadium to scream their support for the Bendigo Bank Spirit in its second semi-final win over Dandenong on Sunday.
Tens of thousands more followed the club's fortunes as it earned the right to host the Women's National Basketball League grand final on Sunday, March 10. Now you can get behind the team in the lead-up to its first grand final appearance.
Inside today's Bendigo Advertiser is a supporter's poster which the Spirit hope to see plastered all over the city.
"The support that we had on the weekend was awesome, now having a poster like this up around town will be even better just to show that everyone's behind Bendigo," rising Spirit star Madeleine Garrick said.
Renae Camino, who helped the Spirit to an imposing 21-3 win-loss record in the regular season, hopes to see the poster in windows everywhere in the lead-up to the big game.
"It's great to have the poster and hopefully plenty of homes and businesses around town put it up to show their support for the Spirit," she said.
Bendigo Spirit chairman Jeremi Moule recognised the community's role in helping the team to the grand final.
"We've had fantastic support all season from people coming to games in big numbers and showing their support around town," Mr Moule said.
The Bendigo Stadium box office will start selling grand final tickets from today at bendigostadium.com.au or by calling 5440 6214.
