Many years ago I lived in Bendigo, then Melbourne, now Sydney. However, the other week we were visiting friends in Bendigo and our three-year-old son fell and required five stitches in his chin.

The base hospital was fantastic. The staff went out of their way to look after my child and my wife.
We were in and out in less than 90 minutes, and felt like royalty. This would never happen in any other city.
This is what country living is about. Thanks to the staff and community.
